Awkward Moments In Public Places

Happy March! (I cannot believe it is already March!) It already is starting to feel more and more like spring-time. Here's the calendar pic for the month:
"Chuck Norris beat the sun in a staring contest."

Time for the weekend rundown. First off, it was another awesome weekend and it also marked (well Sunday did) our one year anniversary of living here. And what a freaking year it has been. This one has started out rocky but I have every hope that it is all for something awesome. Heck, one awesome thing to come out of it already is getting better pay at my job. So yeah... Stay tuned.

Back to the weekend:

Saturday:
We did the usual morning routine of grocery shopping for the basics (we only go BIG TIME grocery shopping once a month) and breakfast afterward (we po' so we eat at home... Okay not really poor just frugal). I found an awesomely comfy new pair of jeans at WalMart for twenty bucks, and I have started to wear out my awesome jeans I got at Torrid, so I bought the WalMart jeans. I love them.

After shopping, as previously mentioned, we went home and had breakfast. Once breakfast settled and there wasn't a possibility of vomiting up Simply Orange Pineapple Orange Juice and turkey-sausage-eggwhite-wholegrain-english muffin sandwich, we decided to go to the park.

We again (like last weekend) wanted to walk around an area we hadn't been in at Minto Brown, but this time we had a map to review before setting out on our adventure. We did a three mile loop and went in the opposite direction than last time and stuck to the paved paths. Probably about a mile to a mile and a quarter in we see a guy coming towards us obviously walking in the opposite direction as us. I try not to judge people by appearance but he looked homeless, and sort of like he could hurt someone (like bad). We just continue on our path and as we get closer the guy suddenly starts talking as though he was talking to someone on his cell phone or hands free kit.

Loudly he said, "I can't go to Hawaii now, I am disabled..."

Not wanting to be rude I toned out his conversation. Only problem with this picture.... He didn't have a hands free kit, nor did he have a cell phone.... *eyes wide* We passed him and began to put some distance between us and him he started talking louder, almost yelling. We thought for sure he was gonna turn around...

At this point we started to walk a little faster, and as we got around the next bend blew a slight sigh of relief. One he wasn't following behind us and two there was another pair of people walking towards us (so in the same direction as him) and they had dogs; a big dog and a little ankle biter. Collin's reasoning is that if anything he will eat the little dog and be too full to follow us.

Once we completed our terrifying three mile walk we again came home. Had lunch and then decided we were still in need of something to do. It was about two at this point and I remembered I had a gift certificate to the Book Bin (thank you awesome younger brother who works at the Corvallis Book Bin) and that after watching Fight Club on A&E a couple weekends before I needed to finally take Kaitlyn's advice and check out the dude who wrote the book. I had no clue what section Chuck Palahniuk would fit into, turns out he's in the literature section there. We bought Fight Club and Choke, both Palahniuk books that seemed sufficiently twisted.

When we went to leave some jack ass parked next to me in some silver thing. If you are familiar with downtown Salem you know in the one way grid if it isn't parallel parking then it is slanted. Well the douchbag next to me must have missed that day at drivers ed and parked almost perpindicular to the curb. It took everything in me not to just clip his rear passenger corner as I backed out (I love my Ricky too much to do that to him).

We then did something we hadn't really done in at least a year. We went to the mall!!! Well, we went to Lancaster Mall. We looked at shoes, and I found the next pair that I want... They will be awesome! And when I can afford to get them I will and I will post an awesome picture of me wearing them and roundhouse kicking some douchebag in the face... Okay maybe not, but I will make sure everyone sees how awesome they are and that they are mine.

As we were leaving the mall, we ran into an "old friend" of ours (his) who works security there at the mall... Turns out him and his wife were living out at his parents house now (and he seemed a little disappointed to find out we lived on our own now). He still looked creepish to me (and always has since the time when he was spending the night at Collin's parents and I woke up to him watching me and Collin sleep...). While we were standing there talking to him, this group of guys walked by and I could have sworn I went to school with one of them. I am pretty sure it was Curtis Sawyer but could be wrong, I just glanced at him for a second while we were talking to the security dude. Cahrazy...

Needless to say Saturday was a fun adventure.

Sunday:
We just kind of chilled, went to see his parents, played the Wii, watched a couple movies, and went for a walk.

And now we are back to Monday.... Yay!
