Honestly? You Smell Weird.

Had an awesome weekend!

Saturday, Kristina, Em, and I went to IKEA up in Portland. Em did so well! We did the abbreviated tour of the showroom because Em was "So done!" about halfway through. I love that little girl! She is so to the point, and I have yet to see her have any serious tantrums (and between my oldest niece and my nephew I have seen some hair-raising tantrums). Her favorite part was jumping on the beds in the showroom! While we were there I got some new curtains for the living room and a new fitted sheet for the bed. I bought some pillowcases too, but they will be going back for two reasons. One, I got the wrong effing shape/size, and two, the one I did open had burn marks on it from the package sealing machine... Not good...

After IKEA we went across the way to the Carhartt store and I bought my dad his "double front logger pants" with the buttons all the way around for his suspenders (that's right, my dad wears suspenders occasionally still... But manly logging suspenders.). These are my birthday present to him.

At this point Little Miss was getting hungry so we headed back toward Salem, and went to Walmart when we got back. We had lunch at Subway, and it was so cute the way Kristina and Em interact! Maybe my nephew jaded me a little bit, but it amazes me how quiet Em is in public! She is too freaking adorable for words. After lunch we got some Valentines stuff and went back to my house.

The girls went home then and I went about doing stuff. I ended up needing an iron to hem the new curtains with, so I ran out to Keizer Station (I felt like going for a short drive), and picked one up at Target... Along with a rolling pin.... And a cast iron skillet at World Market... I then texted Collin to tell him of the three items I purchased and to not mess with me! Haha!

I then proceeded to spend an hour and a half hemming and hanging the new curtains. They look awesome!

Yesterday was a very productive day. I made us breakfast before Collin went off to work, did laundry, went to the store, and then immersed myself in filling out State job applications. I did two that I had to do cover letters for and print and mail. Then I applied for two positions online through the new E-recruiting system the state is implementing. By the time all this was done it was about 3:30pm, I hadn't heard from Jackie (we were going to try and get together for coffee), so I figure we will reschedule some other time, and I finally decided maybe it would be a good idea to eat something for lunch. Had a sandwich and tried to watch this utterly boring movie. I eventually gave up on that and decided to get on the elliptical and watch an episode of Heroes before I started to make the lasagna for dinner.

Thanks to Netflix instant view on the PS3 we have got sucked into a bunch of new shows. We started watching Dexter (season one and part of season two), and Heroes (we are up to season three now). I like watching them while I work out because there are no commercial breaks so it makes it easier to just "go." I love Dexter because it is so dark and twisted. We watched most of the first season of Heroes when it originally aired but for one reason or another didn't keep up with it.

Oh, another crazy thing this weekend: lately I had been wondering whatever happened to one of my old friends from back in the day and then BAM! she friended me on Facebook! It's insane how the universe tends to work sometimes.

This morning really had me set up to think it was going to be a wretched Monday. It all started after I finished with my hair and went in the kitchen. I walk in to find that while I had set the delay brew, and added the water, I had failed to put any coffee grounds in the coffee maker!... Not a good start... So I dumped out my freshly brewed hot water, carefully cooled the carafe, added new water to the coffee maker (spilling a large portion onto the floor and my slipper), and put the filter and grounds in the basket, and turned it on. Then I went about making some eggs. Grabbed a couple eggs out of the fridge, and for the first time in forever dropped one!!! Ugh... At this point I was ready to say fuck it and go back to bed, but no, I carried on and made it to work without further incident. Collin later brought the flowers I got yesterday to the office for me because my little furry friend seemed to think they were hers and that she should eat them. I didn't think they would be safe at home alone with her all day... Heathen bitch... And now I am here, typing this... Getting mildly distracted.

I am actually supposed to be pulling check right now (the first part of this post I was pulling credit reports on people) so that I can post the money we got in today...
