Out Put Poo

I heart you Kristina!

Today was so unexpectedly awesome it amazed me.... I mean seriously, it's Tuesday. Tuesday is most often the worst day of the week for me. Such was not the case on this drizzly, gray day. Work (except for one tiny issue) was awesome. That's all there was to it... I thought it was going to be a horrible blow up, blow out of a day and it wasn't. It damn near left me speechless.

I really don't think I talked about my weekend in my last post... My mind was in other places.

Saturday was ggrrrrrrrreat!(the extra g prevents me getting dinged for copyright infringement) The weather was gorgeous, which in turn meant that traffic over to LC was a bitch, but worth it to have coffee with my girls. There was this ginormous rainbow colored "manta ray" kite at D River.... Personally, I think it looked more like a big rainbow colored sperm... I took pics, someday I might post one... Ha! Then I went to my dad's for his birthday. He loved his cake, and his new pants. As always, Amanda was irresistibly adorable, and Jordan was rather well behaved (he seems to be getting better with age). Then after I got home, I made a kick ass turkey kielbasa and onion pizza, and Collin and I watched more Heroes.

Sunday was awesome too, but as always, way too short. I managed to break a glass (not to worry as we have a whole set of glasses in the garage... Granted, they are not as cool as the ones we are using, but they are still nifty). As I was putting it away the lip of the glass hit the front of the cupboard shelf just right (or wrong depending on how you look at it) and caused a big V shaped crack. Thankfully, it didn't actually break apart. Later, after chopping up an onion and preparing to chop up some garlic, the chef's knife I was using slipped and fell off the counter and headed right for my precious little toes. Reflex kicked in and my right foot (the one in peril) jerked up and away behind me long before the knife clattered to the linoleum. I love my cat like ninja pirate reflexes.

Oh! And I keep forgetting this little morsel of hilarity... Keeping with our 2010 goals, Collin and I are trying out a ton of new recipes with new foods and what not. Thursday, we decided to make this "Spoonin' Mac n Cheese" from my February issue of Rachael Ray. The recipe only made two servings so we doubled it so we would have enough for our lunches... I am sure it would have turned out awesomely, but instead all you could taste was the wine that was the base of the sauce... We just couldn't eat it.... It felt like we were getting buzzed off the cheese sauce... I think we need to fulfill another 2010 goal before we attempt cooking with any large volume of wine again (learn more about wine... Seriously, it is one of our goals...).

Now to go spend some quality time with my ever amazingly awesome husband! He gets to go to the dentist tomorrow! Yay him!
